Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ukraine Mr. Manuchehr Moradi.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the possible direction for cooperation between the agrarian agencies of the two countries.

Olga Trofimtseva said that there are currently three projects of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of the agro-industrial complex under the consideration of the Iranian side. In particular, those include a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of agriculture. There are two draft documents of cooperation on veterinary and phytosanitary matters.

For his part, Mr. Manuchehr Moradi expressed his interest in developing cooperation between countries, and in particular in the deepening of cooperation in agriculture, and assured of his assistance.

It should be noted on the results of 2018, Ukrainian exports of agrarian and food products to the Islamic Republic of Iran amounted to $ 421 million, trade between the countries amounted to $ 437.5 million.
