According to the Minister, the sowing campaign of early spring grain crops has been fulfilled in the area of 2.3 million hectares or 94%

Currently, 11 regions have already finished the sowing campaign of early grain crops, namely: Odesa,Ternopil,Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsia and Vinnytsa regions, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne and Chernihiv regions.Taras Kutovyi, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, reported.

According to the Minister, the sowing campaign of early spring grain crops has been fulfilled in the area of 2.3 million hectares or 94% of the forecast. Moreover, wheat was planted in the area of 159 thousand hectares (92%), barley – 1.8 million hectares (92%), oats – 208 thousand hectares (95%) and peas – 223 thousand hectares (116%).

«Moreover, sugar beets were planted in the area of 269 thousand hectares or 100% of the forecast,and sunflower – 2.0 million hectares (40%). The planting of corn for grain has been fulfilled in the area of 1.3 million hectares or 30% of the forecast. Additionally, the planting of soy has also started and been fulfilled in the area of 222 thousand hectares or 11% of the forecast» - the Minister stressed.
