China is one of the key trading partners of Ukraine in the agro-industrial complex, which is steadily included in the TOP 5 countries-importers of Ukrainian agricultural products. For 5 months of this year, agricultural trade between the countries amounted to more than $ 860 million, while exports reached $ 795 million. This was stated by Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva during a working meeting with the Chinese delegation headed by Mr. Lu Jingbo, Deputy Chairman of the National Food and Strategic Reserve Administration of the People's Republic of China (NAFRA).

The parties discussed important issues concerning the establishment of effective agricultural export logistics, as well as cooperation in the field of agrarian technology development and agricultural machineries.

"The cooperation of Ukraine and China in the field of agriculture is strategic, and investments in the agrarian sector of Ukraine are the key to the food security of China and the world as a whole. Ukraine is now actively working on the issue of diversification of export markets for domestic agricultural products, and the People's Republic of China - is interested in diversifying the import of such products. Therefore, today the deepening of cooperation between our countries is extremely urgent and necessary," Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva stressed. Mr. Lu Jingbo, who confirmed the interest of the People's Republic of China in strengthening cooperation between countries in agriculture, supported her opinion.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to start preparing a framework document that will fix areas of cooperation between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the National Administration of Food and Strategic Reserves of the People's Republic of China. It is planned that this year the document will be signed in Beijing, the People's Republic of China.
