Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovyi has presented draft of Agricultural Budget 2017 at the Parliamentary Committee and discussed the state support for agriculture with MPs and representatives of associations.

"I would like to ask the Committee for support in finalizing the budget. I am satisfied as a Minister with this budget, we as a ministry defended it at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. All the rest goes to elaboration for taking decision together with you, "- Minister said.

According to Minister the draft Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2017" the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has provided expenditures in the amount of 8 274.5 million UAH. Expenditures for Programs for Support the development of agricultural enterprises are provided in the amount of 3 721.8 million UAH of that total amount. "There are two approaches to distribution of the state support that we are considering today. First is support for "a hectare" and the second - subsidy per unit of production"- Kutovyi said.

In the first case, first of all, the minister said, the state support should be received by farmers engaged in animal husbandry, niche crops and which invest in the Ukrainian agricultural machinery.

The second case - there is the issue of product quality for which the farmer can receive subsidy. "We should encourage industry to produce top quality products. If we talk about milk then farmers should move to contactless milking. If we talk about meat then subsidies should receive only those producers whose livestock goes for slaughtering", - Minister is convinced.

Among other things, according to the Minister, under the proposed Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Draft Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2017" Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine provided expenditures for programs to reduce the cost of loans, maintaining laying young gardens, vineyards and berry fields, construction of infrastructure, reimbursement of costs of cattle and related expenditures, subsidy " for a hectare" of niche products, cost reduction of technology and more.
