Explanatory meetings between the European Commission and Ukraine continue in Brussels
On December 9, the fifth meeting of the Ukrainian-Turkish Working Group was held where the prospects and priority areas of Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation in the agrarian sphere were discussed.
The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyi and representatives of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine. The Turkish side was represented by the Director General for EU and Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Aylin Chaalayan Ozcan, as well as authorized members of the Turkish delegation.
Taras Vysotskyi said “Ukraine and Turkey have close economic ties and an active bilateral dialogue. Today our aim is to find mutually beneficial solution in order to reduce technical barriers, continue to harmonize certificates and facilitate access markets. This is of critical importance for our countries as we both have a huge economic and investing potential to significantly increase bilateral trade."
During the meeting, the parties discussed past achievements in bilateral work and identified areas for further cooperation, particularly, in irrigation sphere.
