From 29 January to 2 February in Ukraine was European expert mission TAIEX, the purpose of which was to study, discuss and provide key recommendations for reforming forestry.

The main areas that discussed during the working meeting:
-change of approaches to the state management of forestry and hunting economy by separating functions of regulation, supervision and control from functions of economic activity;
- introduction of a new system for the organization of protection forests;
- introduction of a unified procedure for selling unprocessed timber for all permanent forest users;
- extending the powers of the State Agency of Forestry as a regulator and controlling authority for all forest users.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has attracted a wide range of experts to the discussions–representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the State Forestry Agency, the State Ecological Inspectorate, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, the European Business Association, the embassies and ministries of European countries. After elaborating and taking into account the comments of all interested executive bodies and experts of the TAIEX mission, the Ministry will develop a Plan of Measures to implement the Strategy.
