On November 22 the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Roman Leshchenko conducted a meeting with representatives of Israeli irrigation companies NaanDanJain Irrigation Ltd, Netafim and Rivulis at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of join projects in the field of irrigation and water supply.
Representatives of the companies expressed their interest in cooperation with Ukraine. NaanDanJain Irrigation Ltd, Netafim and Rivulis hold leading positions in irrigation production technologies and vast experience across more than 120 countries.
Roman Leshchenko has presented a road map of irrigation reform in Ukraine underlining that the country has approved the Strategy on Irrigation and Drainage for the Period till 2030.
Besides, the Minister has also mentioned draft-law “On the Water Users Association and Promotion of Hydrotechnical Melioration” which must be adopted till the end of the year. The law should accelerate development of irrigation in Ukraine as well as investments in Ukrainian agriculture.
The parties exchanged information and agreed on a number of subsequent meetings to discuss plans for possible cooperation.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Israel Ievhen Korniichuk, the leadership of the State Water Agency of Ukraine, the Ukraine-Israel Business Council, the Ukrainian Agrarian Council, representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Israeli Embassy in Ukraine, business and international financial organizations.
