On September 2 at the premises of the Club of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the second plenary session of the joint commission on economic, trade and technical cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the State of Qatar was held.

Previously conducted work, implementation of investment projects in Ukraine and negotiations on the cooperation in agro-industrial complex resulted in the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and Qatari companies of Baladna (QPSC), WIDAM FOOD COMPANY (QPSC).

The parties agreed to cooperate and exchange the information regarding investment opportunities in the agrarian projects in Ukraine.

The parties also confirmed their interest in the development of the dairy industry, particularly, the dairy processing domain.

Signing of these Memorandums will significantly contribute to innovative and investment development of Ukrainian dairy production as well as food security.

First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotkyi underlined that preliminary arrangements achieved during the visit of President of Ukraine and Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine in April this year in Qatar started to bring fruits.

Taras Vysotskyi stated “today we signed a Memorandum with one of the biggest companies of Qatar. The company which has excellent expertise and technological capacity. For instance, milk yield on the company`s production facilities amounts to 40 liters on average per day, which is one of the highest worldwide. Therefore, engagement of Qatari technologies plays an important role.”

He also emphasized that those developments, first of all, will allow to create new jobs in the countryside and contribute to increasing of added value.
