Mykola Solskyi talks to Polish Agriculture Minister Robert Telus
Mykola Solskyi, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, discussed with Jordan Schwartz, the World Bank Director for Eastern Europe, and Gevorg Sargsyan, the World Bank Operations Manager the support of Ukrainian farmers, access to financial programmes for agrarian producers and entrepreneurs, as well as the early recovery of the agricultural sector as a whole.
They discussed the creation of new programmes and the financing of existing ones as a part of the support project, which will be running until 2025.
In particular, the participants discussed the provision of funds for affordable loans for farmers under the "5-7-9" programme as well as the provision of grants to small farmers.
The parties also discussed the programme to finance alternative energy sources for grain elevators. This will help to reduce costs and improve the reliability of their services, such as food drying and storage.
Minister Solskyi emphasized on the importance of supporting the reform of the irrigation system in Ukraine.
