VOA Interview: Ukraine Food Minister
The top management of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection had a meeting with the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of the Republic of India.
The parties discussed the changes in Indian legislation regarding the fumigation of grain imported from Ukraine. In addition, the parties considered the ways to accelerate the veterinary certification of Ukrainian pork and poultry, as well as meat products, in order to facilitate their access to the market of India.
Indian officials expressed their support to the food programme "Grain From Ukraine" and emphasized the importance and the necessity of further extension of the "Grain Initiative". The First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare of India also expressed the interest to resume imports of Ukrainian grain to his country.
