Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and “POSCO DAEWOO Corp.” signed The Protocol of Intentions regarding the implementation of a project for the purpose of the modernization of agricultural machinery in Ukraine for small and medium Ukrainian farmers.
The Protocol was signed during the “Korea-Ukraine Second Economic Cooperation Forum” by Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine for European Integration Ms. Olga Trofimtseva and Senior Executive Vice President of the “POSCO DAEWOO Corp.” Mr. Kim Seon Gyu.
Commenting this event Olga Trofimtseva said that the signing the protocol with Korean company “POSCO DAEWOO” defines the areas of cooperation between the two countries in agriculture. "By signing this protocol parties agree to develop a joint program on providing the latest agricultural machinery for small and medium agricultural producers in Ukraine. It will make a significant contribution to the stabilization and consistent development of agriculture”. The next step in cooperation in this area is to establish a joint working group to develop an action plan required to start the program. The working group is being composed from competent experts of both parties and professional associations of Ukraine and aims to:
determine the guidelines and conditions necessary for the effective implementation of the program;
prepare a list of agricultural machinery for the program;
search appropriate Ukrainian partner for the program;
draft detailed and specific agreement on terms and conditions of the program.
