Japan and Ukraine considering prospects of cooperation in the projects of agricultural sector

   Taras Kutovyi, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, discussed this during the meeting with Shigeki Sumi, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine.

    The Japanese side exploring the possibilities of investments to the Ukrainian agricultural sector, which appear during reforms. In particular, it includes support projects of small farmers, organic goods production and delivery of agricultural machinery.

   Taras Kutovyi, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, discussed this during the meeting with Shigeki Sumi, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine.

 «During the meeting we discussed the feasibilities of Japanese side participation in support programs for small farmers, organic food production and delivery of agricultural equipments» – Taras Kutovyi stressed.

Shigeki Sumi confirmed the interest of Japan in realization the projects of Ukrainian agricultural sector.

The possible projects will be discussed by participants more detailed in the near future.  

For reference: the team of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and food of Ukraine developed the concept "3+5", which provides the ways of reforming the industry. It includes 3 strategically important priorities: state support of farmers, reforming of state enterprises and transparent transaction of land; and 5 resulting directions –markets expansion, organic production and niche cultures, development of rural areas, irrigation and food safety.
