The foreign trade turnover between Ukraine and the EU countries, for January-November 2017, increased by 31.1% or $ 1.715 billion, compared to the same period in 2016, and amounted to $ 7.2 billion. However, exports of agrarian and food products from Ukraine to the EU countries grew by 38.2%, or $ 1.4 billion, and amounted to $ 5.2 billion compared to 2016.

"We are pleased to note that the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the EU is working, and this is reflected in concrete figures of the growth of our bilateral trade turnover in the agrarian and food sectors. We also hope that this positive trend will continue in the light of our active work in approximation of Ukrainian legislation to the EU standards," Olga Trofimtseva said.

The Deputy Minister stressed that the largest commodity groups that Ukraine exported to the EU during this period were grains ($ 1.4 billion), oils ($ 1.3 billion) and oilseeds ($ 0.9 billion).

"Along with these traditional export products, we significantly increased the export of such products as extracts of malt, flour products, cereals ($ 31.7 million), bakery, confectionery ($ 15.4 million), butter ($ 12.4 million), casein ($ 11.9 million), chocolate and other products containing cocoa ($ 7.9 million), etc.,"- Olga Trofimtseva said.

According to the Deputy Minister, the TOP-5 countries-buyers of Ukrainian agricultural products in the EU during this period were: the Netherlands with a share of 18.4%, Spain - 14.4%, Poland - 13.3%, Italy - 11.8%, Germany - 10.3%.
