Ukrainian suppliers are invited to apply to the tender through the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) by 01 February 2023.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched a tender to procure and distribute seed materials (barley, wheat, oat and pea) to support local farmers during the upcoming spring seeding season.
This activity is a key component of FAO’s 2023 response programme that aims to protect the food security and livelihoods of rural communities in newly accessible areas and frontline oblasts, namely in Sumska, Chernihivska, Donetska, Kharkivska, Dnipropetrovska, Zaporizka, Mykolaivska, Khersonska and Odeska oblasts.
For this tender, potential suppliers are invited to submit offers for either the complete quantity or partial quantities of the following inputs for spring seeding season:
• Spring barley seed (6 660 tonnes in total)
• Spring wheat seed (9 780 tonnes in total)
• Oat seed (1 800 tonnes in total)
• Pea seed (1 760 tonnes in total)
The specifications of the seeds have been developed based on the needs of local farmers and the seed varieties that are widely cultivated and most suited to Ukraine’s agro-ecological zones.
In order to participate in the tender, suppliers are invited to apply through the United Nations Global Market Place www.ungm.org by selecting the following tender:
Procurement of the crop seeds (spring barley, spring wheat, oat pea) for Ukraine (for Ukrainian suppliers only)
The closing date and time for the submission is 1 February 2023 at 23:59 CET (2 February 2023 at 00:59 Kyiv time).
Suppliers are required to be registered (https://www.ungm.org/Vendor/Registration). Detailed instructions on how to access FAO tender documents and submit the bid through UNGM can be downloaded from the UNGM Tender Management page.
On 24 January 2023, FAO will host an online conference for potential suppliers in order to present detailed information on submission requirements, respond to queries and review instructions for registration in the UNGM system.
