Nearly a hundred of experts together with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine develop the Roadmap for the Reform Support Team

Taras Kutovyi, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine opened and moderated the strategic session of agricultural ministry with the Reform Support Team and with participation of international and donor organizations.

Nearly a hundred of experts met in Kyiv to review the work which has been already done and to develop a further Roadmap for Reform Support Team under the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Taras Kutovyi, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine opened and moderated the strategic session of agricultural ministry with the Reform Support Team and with participation of international and donor organizations.

The main purpose of the meeting - improving the efficiency of the Ministry’s work through the development of cooperation between the Ministry, donors and experts.

"We have clear goals, about which we talked when I came to the office. Our way shows that the majority of challenges are reflected in the strategy "3 + 5". What I expect from the session? Coordination, action plans and timeframes for implementations. We already have concrete results. However, it is important to notice that the desire to progress further is much stronger"- said Kutovyi during his welcome speech.

The Session itself includes 8 hour - panels that meet the strategic goals of the concept "3 + 5" of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. It is worthy to mention that each direction is assigned to the relevant Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine which will be responsible person.

There were proposed following issues to be discussed among experts: land reform, reform of state-owned enterprises, reform of state support, rural development, issues of safety and quality of food products, expand of markets, irrigation and organic farming.

Among other things, the goals of the meeting is are structuring common goals of the Ministry and Reform Support Team. Also, experts and participants will develop common vision of ministerial problems and find ways of their joint solving. One of the most important goals - specification of next steps of joint activities of the first half of the year.

"I want to establish a project approach in the Ministry’s work. We're almost finishing the final stage of the analysis of current situation. Further, the work should be dynamic. We need to see the target and direct the power for its realization ", - said the Minister.

For information, the Reform Support Team of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine was established in August of the current year in order to implement new approaches to strengthen the Ministry.

The focus of the Reform Support Team - bringing positive changes and strategic tasks rather than daily operations.

 

In future, experts of the Reform Support Team should become a part of the renewed Ministry.
