Ukraine has exported agricultural products worth of 13.5 billion USD for ten months of 2013

For ten months of this year, Ukraine has exported agricultural products worth of 13.5 billion USD. After the Association Agreement with the EU signing this figure will significantly increase due to the cancellation of import duties on 83% of domestic agricultural products. This was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food during the round table "The agricultural sector of Ukraine towards the European integration.

"The export of Ukrainian agricultural products to the EU is growing annually. The European Union provides more than a third of foreign trade turnover of Ukraine. I would like to emphasize that this year Ukraine is the leading exporter of wheat to the European market. The Association Agreement signing will greatly expand the access of Ukrainian goods. Thus, after its entry into force, the EU immediately abolishes the import duties on 83 % of agricultural production", said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

According to the Minister, the largest and solvent world market will be open for the Ukrainian farmers. Mykola Prysyazhnyuk also said that Ukrainian agricultural policy approached to the European one.

"The main statements of Ukrainian agricultural sector development strategy by 2020 are in line with the EU Common Agricultural Policy for 2014-2020. The priorities are rural development, increasing competitiveness of farmers and their involvement into the value chain, agricultural sector food safety ensuring. Besides, Ukraine will develop the partnerships with processors. The most important point is the support for farmers", said the Minister.
